Latifa Matheeussen

Her story

Latifa has over 10 years of experience in Human Resources Consultancy and DIEB (Diversity, Inclusion, Equity, Belonging). Within her own company defactum she guides organizations in HR processes and this with a focus on DIEB. Her clients are international companies, the social sector, educational institutions and smaller SMEs. She also gives numerous workshops and lectures including to the University of Antwerp on History and Identity Development: rich, inclusive history lessons, but also to employers organization VOKA on inclusive recruitment.

Until today she is active in youth organizations such as City Pirates where she guides young people in different trajectories. These are young people who do not meet the standard set in society, these young people find their way in society together with the guidance of Latifa. She is in contact with parents, schools, employers, social workers and all this with the objective of ensuring the young people their democratic rights. She is a do-gooder with a heart for young people and a great sense of justice. In short, she believes that the youth is the future and in that future she wants to help invest by making her contribution.

In her spare time Latifa does Taefit at the Desportstudio in Antwerp. This is a sports club that focuses on the most vulnerable women and wants to make sports accessible for them. Even where she goes to sport should have a social purpose. During the remaining free time she has, you can find her underwater in a diving suit on the other side of the world. She likes to travel around the world and she can already tick +50 countries off her checklist. Latifa speaks Dutch, English, French, Arabic (Maghreb), Tmazight (Berber) and Spanish.
